About

My name is Peta, and I’ve proudly called the beautiful Sunshine Coast home for over 20 years. I founded Right to Recovery to follow my passion for mental health and community support, while also creating a balanced lifestyle for myself and my family.

I hold a full Diploma in Community Services and have worked in a multitude of community-based adult mental health and youth settings on the Sunshine Coast for nearly 12 years. My work is grounded in connection, advocacy, and person-centred support.

Alongside my professional experience, I also bring lived experience of mental health, trauma, and neurodivergence, which deeply informs my practice. This personal insight allows me to connect with participants in an authentic and empathetic way, while maintaining strong professional boundaries. It enhances my ability to walk alongside individuals in their recovery journey with genuine understanding, compassion, and respect for their unique experiences and needs.

As a NDIS Registered Provider, I’m highly familiar with the services, networks, and supports available within the Sunshine Coast region. I offer assistance in navigating the NDIS, advocating for participant needs, and supporting positive engagement with local services as part of an individual’s NDIS plan and funding package.

Having worked in roles such as Case Manager and Support Facilitator within recognised non-government mental health programs, I’ve supported countless individuals facing barriers associated with psychosocial disability. My approach is recovery-focused, empowering participants to integrate meaningful strategies into their everyday lives.

I’ve also completed NDIS Support Coordination Training and Psychosocial Recovery Coach Training, and have had the opportunity to deliver both types of services in past roles. This hands-on experience has further informed my understanding of how to guide participants through their recovery journey with clarity and purpose.

I strongly believe in the importance of connection – to community, culture, and meaningful daily routines. I work to ensure every individual I support feels seen, heard, and respected in their own recovery path. Cultural awareness and respect are key values I hold close, and I view them as vital components of building a stronger, more inclusive community.
